Who controls your data
Ledger Grove Accounting Services is the controller of personal data collected through this website for enquiries, consultation bookings and prospective-client onboarding. You can contact Ledger Grove about privacy through the website contact page.
Data we collect
Depending on how you use the site, this can include your name, email address, business name, business type, turnover band, transaction volume, accounting software, services required, current accountant information, consultation preferences and any information you choose to include in a message. Ledger Grove also keeps aggregate first-party marketing analytics such as daily and monthly visitor estimates, page views, sample downloads, quote progress, bookings, checkout starts, successful subscriptions, campaign/referrer labels, landing pages, device category and approximate country, region or city where that information is available from the hosting or network environment. To avoid counting the same visit repeatedly, short-lived server-side pseudonymous identifiers are derived from ordinary request signals and rotated by day or month. Raw visitor IP addresses and full user-agent strings are not stored in the Ledger Grove analytics dataset.
Why we use it
Data is used to respond to enquiries, provide pricing and suitability information, arrange consultations, progress client onboarding, prevent duplicate bookings, administer the website, measure which marketing channels and locations are effective, and establish or manage a professional engagement.
Lawful bases
Website enquiries and pre-contract onboarding are generally processed because they are necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract and/or because Ledger Grove has a legitimate interest in responding to prospective clients and operating the practice. Where legal or professional obligations apply, data may also be processed to comply with those obligations.
Payments
Recurring payments are processed through Stripe secure checkout. Payment card details are entered with Stripe rather than stored in the Ledger Grove WordPress database. Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy terms.
Hosting and service providers
The website is hosted on WordPress.com. Email delivery, payment processing, calendar integrations and other technical providers may process limited data where required to provide those services. Approximate geographic information may be derived from hosting/CDN location signals or a configured geolocation data source; exact GPS location is not collected by Ledger Grove analytics. Ledger Grove also uses the Google Ads tag to measure whether advertising leads to verified purchases. A successful purchase event can include the subscription value, GBP currency and a unique Stripe checkout-session transaction reference; it does not include payment-card details. Google processes advertising measurement data under its own terms and the visitor’s advertising-consent choice. Ledger Grove uses service providers only where needed to operate the website and deliver the service.
Retention
General enquiries and consultation records may be retained for up to 24 months. Incomplete prospective-client onboarding records may be retained for up to 12 months. Once you become a client, records may be kept for longer where required for accounting, tax, anti-money-laundering, professional or legal purposes.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law can give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal data, object to certain processing, and receive data in a portable form. You can raise a request through the contact page. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully.
Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and you should not send passwords or full payment-card information through ordinary enquiry forms.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the website, service providers or legal requirements change. The current version will remain published on this page.
