How are they different from annual accounts?
Statutory annual accounts are prepared primarily for external compliance and report on a completed financial year. Management accounts are produced monthly or quarterly and can be structured around the decisions the business needs to make now.
What is normally included?
A useful pack can include profit and loss, balance sheet, cash position, working capital, aged debt, budget comparisons, KPIs and written commentary explaining significant changes.
Who benefits most?
They become particularly useful when a business is growing, hiring, carrying significant debtors, managing tight cash, reporting to a lender or investor, or making regular pricing and investment decisions.
Do micro businesses need monthly packs?
Not always. If the business is simple and stable, quarterly reporting or a good bookkeeping dashboard may be enough. Ledger Grove does not recommend a higher-cost reporting service just because it exists.
